State competition upcoming for Lakeland students in cross country meet

Lakeland students qualified Saturday (10.12.19) for state cross country meets which are Oct. 19th in Knoxville.

At the West Tennessee Memphis Youth Athletics Regional Cross Meet, Lakeland Elementary School (LES) girls came in third place overall, which qualifies them as a team to go to the Tennessee State Elementary School Cross Country Meet Saturday (10.19.19)  in Knoxville.  Stormi Boles led the team, finishing in 8th place overall with a time of 7l57/1.15 miles.

Two LMPS (Lakeland Middle Preparatory School) runners, Maui Boles and Porter Spiceland, qualified as individuals to run at the Tennessee State Middle School Cross Country Meet the same day.   For the girls, Maui came in 2nd overall with a time of 12:40/2 miles. For the boys, Porter came in 5th overall with a time of 11:25 /2 miles.
