The COVID-19 pandemic has impacted the Dream Home® Giveaway, located in Lakeland for the second consecutive year. Ticket sales continue and virtual and drive by plans are in the works.
Sydney Blair Watson, regional development representative for ALSAC, said, “The open house for the St. Jude Dream Home® Giveaway in Memphis has been postponed until further notice for your personal safety and well-being. We appreciate your continued support of St. Jude and look forward to seeing you again soon. As a global research hospital, our hearts and prayers remain with families all across the world who are dealing firsthand with COVID-19.”
The home is located 5235 Saffron Springs in Kensington Manor in Lakeland. It is a four- bedroom/four-bath home, valued at $500,000 with an estimated 4,000 square feet. Greg Bridgers, founder of Southern Serenity Homes, is the builder.
Ms. Watson added, “Please know that we are actively working on a plan to encourage drivers to drive by and view the exterior of the home (Holidays in the Heat aka extravagant Christmas lights/décor at the home). More information to come once details are finalized.”
She said, “The best way you can continue to support our campaign is by participating and promoting our Dream Home traditions, like Floor Signing.”
The next prize deadline is June 5th. “Win a house and help fight childhood cancer! Get your Memphis St. Jude Dream Home ticket by the June 5th Bonus Prize deadline to be eligible to win your choice of a new 2020 Honda Civic LX or new 2020 Nissan Versa 1.6 SV, courtesy of Wolfchase Honda and Wolfchase Nissan . Ashley Home Store and Stash Homes have so graciously agreed to give a $5,000 Last Chance Prize for ticket buyers in place of their traditional Open House shopping spree prize, said Ms. Watson. Dates for this prize will soon be announced.
Of the 15,000 tickets this year, 12,981 have been sold, a record number according to Ms. Watson.
