Coming to the Lakeland Senior Center (LSC) in November are a Pottery Painting Workshop and Medicare annual enrollment session.
For information about the Senior Center at 4527 Canada Road or to RSVP for an event, call Kim Odom, Center manager, at 746-8195.
The Pottery Painting Workshop was postponed from the original start date of October 17th, according to Mrs. Odom. The new dates for the Workshop by Creative Aging are Nov. 7th, 14th, 21st and Dec. 5th, from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. There is no Workshop Nov. 28th because the Center is closed for Thanksgiving.
The Creative Aging Senior Studio Workshop will feature Adam Leoffel for the classes in Lakeland. Participants will paint ceramic pieces; explore aspects of the pottery making process including color theory, principles of design and application processes; and learn how paints and glazes work together to create different effects, patterns and colors.
Mr. Leoffel will fire the pieces at his business in Chickasaw Plaza, Seize the Clay, and bring them back the following week.
There is limited space. Please register.
The Medicare annual enrollment will be from 9 a.m. to noon Friday (11.1.19). Adrienne Franklin with the Aging Commission will be available to help with enrollment for Medicare. Medicare enrollees can reevaluate their coverage to find the best plan. Please pre-register.
