Shelby County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO) deputies were called about 11 p.m. Friday (1.25.19) to the scene of a shooting in the 9400 block of Memphis Arlington Road, presumed to be in Lakeland city limits.
Lt. Anthony Bucker with SCSO said, “A male victim was pronounced deceased on the scene. Investigators are asking for anyone with information about this homicide to call Crime Stoppers at 528-CASH.”
Lt. Buckner said the body was found outside a building but there are no other details. Although the area has been reported as the 9200 block of Memphis Arlington Road, it was later corrected to the 9400 block. He said the area is assumed to be in Lakeland.
Once the victim is identified and next of kin is notified, more information will be released by the SCSO.
He said this is an ongoing investigation.
