The school year has ended for students today (5.24.19) at LMPS (Lakeland Middle Preparatory School) and LES (Lakeland Elementary School) as many were recognized with end-of-the-year honors at both schools.

LES serves grades K-4 and LMPS serves grades 5-8.  High school students from Lakeland attend Arlington High School via an interlocal between the two cities.

End-of-the-year programs by grade, starting with kindergarten, were May 17, 20, 21, 22 and 23.

Kindergarten students were given completion certificates.  Students in grades 1-4 received Citizenship Certificates. Students in grades 2-4 received Honor Roll (all As and Bs on report cards) or Principal’s Honor Roll (all As on report cards) Certificates.   Fourth graders received a Completion Certificate for their last year of elementary school.

One student in each homeroom (grades 1-4) was recognized as the Lion’s Pride award winner for character and citizenship. A student can only receive this once in his/her LES career, so it’s a big honor, according to Shelly White, LES assistant principal.
