Shelby County currently has 1,931 confirmed COVID-19 cases. The total number of deaths in Shelby County attributed to COVID-19 to 41, according to Joan Carr, public information officer for the Shelby County Health Department (SCHD).
Total deaths from yesterday did not increase but the Shelby County cases did increase by 37. As of April 22nd, there were 6.3% to 8% positive tests in 38002 which includes Lakeland. COVID-19-administered tests in the 38002 zip were 567-735. Ms. Carr said the SCHD does not break down cases by municipality, only by zip code on the zip code map.
The Tennessee Department of Health website shows Fayette County has one death, 28 recovered cases, 48 total cases and 738 negative cases.
