It was a Ronald McDonald kind of day at the new Lakeland McDonald’s for the grand opening, with the venue overflowing with customers.
The fast food eatery at 9940 U.S. Highway 64 featured the red-haired celeb who greeted young and old alike for the two-hour celebration.
Nikaua Grandberry, the store’s kiosk manager, became the artist-du-jour offering face painting for children while Ronald amused the children with magic tricks.
Fred Tillman, franchise holder for the Lakeland location as well as 67 other locations in Arkansas, Tennessee and Mississippi, was on hand for the event and said the store is close to meeting expectations and some days exceeds expectations.
Lisa Clifft, director of operations at Century Management, said she is very pleased with the restaurant and expects support to continue to grow each week.
The ribbon-cutting was Nov. 6.
