Rock ‘n Roar 5K is a BIG Success

It was picture perfect weather Saturday (9.29.18) for the 2018 Rock ‘n Roar 5K and Fun Run sponsored by the Lakeland Education Foundation.  There were 241 registered participants that came out for the race, which directly benefits the Lakeland School System by providing teacher grants and other means of support.

The LMPS band kept participants entertained with “Land of 1000 Dances” and ‘Louie, Louie” prior to the race and played the National Anthem just before the start of the race.

Also on hand, OrangeTheory Fitness coaches were present to help the runners warm up and Mike the Balloon Man was a huge hit, making all sorts of things for kids of all ages, and a few of the adults too. He made rabbits, octopuses, swords and more!

Steve Schad, a talented guitarist, played original songs and some favorite classic rock songs to keep runners entertained as they finished the 5K.

The LEF website promised that this event was back and would be better than ever…they appear to have delivered on their promise!
