The City of Lakeland is gearing up for its annual Fall Cleanup Day, set for Saturday, September 28, from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Public Works facility located behind City Hall at 10001 Hwy 70. This year’s cleanup coincides with the Lakeland yard sale, allowing residents to conveniently dispose of leftover items.
The event provides a valuable opportunity for residents to dispose of unique and hard-to-recycle trash items. To participate, residents must present proof of residency.
Accepted Items Include:
- Yard waste and limbs
- Mattresses, box springs, and bed frames
- Indoor and outdoor furniture
- Fencing materials
- Appliances (must be professionally decommissioned with paperwork)
- Computers, accessories, and various electronics, including gaming systems and televisions
Items Not Accepted:
- Oils, paints, and antifreeze
- Pesticides, herbicides, and chemicals
- Railroad ties
- Fluorescent bulbs and non-decommissioned appliances
Residents are encouraged to take advantage of this chance to clear out unwanted items while contributing to a cleaner community.
