It’s still coming, says an owner of the restaurant space located at the Mobil gas station, 3665 Canada Road.
Robert Lalani, one of the Mobil owners, said today (12.21.18) the local restaurant is coming to the space which formerly housed McDonald’s. The McDonald’s chain vacated the space in September 2017 and moved to a new facility on U.S. Highway 64 in Lakeland.
“The partners have to get their details together,” said Mr. Lalani. “They have until Jan. 31 to get all the paperwork handled,” he added. He expects to be in contact with restaurant officials the first or second week in January.
In October, Mr. Lalani said it would take 60-90 days for renovation with the restaurant possibly opening in March.
Tops Bar-B-Q is a Memphis business open over 60 years and has locations from Marion, AR, throughout Memphis and Southaven and Olive Branch, MS. It is famous for slow-cooked pit barbecue, but also hamburgers and cheeseburgers.
