Lakeland Preparatory School has announced senior standout Reese Harrell as its Athlete of the Week following a dominant, all-around performance that fueled the team’s recent success.
According to Prep Athletic Director, Brady Benjamin, Harrell, a 5’10” senior, delivered an impressive 32 points over the week while controlling the boards with 21 total rebounds, including 11 on the defensive end. Her impact didn’t stop there—she also added 4 assists, demonstrating the leadership and versatility that have become hallmarks of her game.
Coaches praised Harrell’s consistency, energy, and ability to take over on both ends of the court, noting that her effort has been instrumental in the team’s continuing momentum.
In addition to earning Lakeland Prep’s top weekly honor, Harrell has also been nominated for the Daily Memphian Player of the Week. Supporters are encouraged to cast their votes and help spotlight her outstanding achievement.

During the school year, Lakeland Currents shines a spotlight on a standout athlete who exemplifies excellence both on and off the field for the Lions. This athlete spotlight will be based on a recommendation by the school’s athletic director and coaching staffs.
