Two intersections in Lakeland now have red flashing lights atop the existing stop signs, according to Emily Harrell, Lakeland city engineer.
They are at Memphis Arlington and Canada Roads and Memphis Arlington and Seed Tick Roads.
Mrs. Harrell said a number of complaints were received noting drivers were running stop signs at both intersections.
“To make drivers more aware of the intersection we installed the flashers on the Stop Signs. We also plan to put yellow flashers on the Stop Ahead signs at the same intersections.”
She said there are no plans to install at other intersections.
