Lakeland Prep continues to make its mark in the local world of high school athletics, with student-athletes excelling across multiple sports and earning well-deserved recognition.

In basketball, Lakeland Prep’s Head Coach Tyler Boyd was named District 15AA Co-Coach of the Year, a testament to his leadership and the team’s strong performance. The Lions, who are 2A in basketball, play local schools like Memphis Business Academy, Trezevant, Memphis Rise Academy and KIPP Collegiate among others in their district.

The Men’s Basketball program saw multiple players earn All-District honors:

  • Cooper Gallagher – First Team All-District
  • Connor Jones – First Team All-District
  • Ryan Pitts – Second Team All-District
  • Brecken Boyd – Third Team All-District

Several Lady Lions players were also honored with All-District selections, including:

  • Martina Miconi – First Team All-District
  • Reese Harrell – Second Team All-District
  • Kylie Davis – Third Team All-District
  • Ann-Sophie Grandchamp – District 15AA Freshman of the Year

In middle school basketball, Evan Marks earned a spot on the TMSAA Sectional All-Tournament Team, recognizing his standout performance.

Lakeland Prep’s wrestling program is also making strides, with Yovanni Taylor and Freshman Drew Clough both securing third-place finishes in their weight classes, earning spots at the upcoming sectional tournament in Nashville.

As Lakeland Preparatory School continues to grow, adding a 12th grade next year, its athletic program should continue seeing success in multiple sports moving into the future.
