Paul Rose wins in Special Primary Election for TN Senate

The general election candidates for Tennessee State Senate, District 32, are set.

The primary election was yesterday (1.24.19) with Paul Rose winning the Republican nomination, according to the Shelby County Election Commission.  With low voter turnout, Mr. Rose received 754 more votes than his next closest competitor.  Heidi Shafer, a Lakeland resident, came in third place.

One Democratic candidate, Eric Coleman, was on the ballot.  With even lower turnout, Mr. Coleman won the election.

Senator Mark Norris vacated the seat in October to become the federal judge of West Tennessee.  The general election will be March 12.  Democrat Eric Coleman will face off with Republican Paul Rose.
