The community is invited to a special BOC (Board of Commissioners) meeting and Town Hall Sept. 18 at City Hall. Details will be shared about the St. Jude Dream Home in Lakeland and the Fire Department which is to open next year, according to Jessica Millspaugh, city recorder.
The special meeting about Lakeland’s selection for the 2019 St. Jude Dream Home is at 5:15 p.m. Sept. 18 at City Hall.

Included in the meeting are resolutions waiving sign ordinance regulations and City building permit fees (excluding sewer connection fees) and authorizing a donation of $10,000 to the Dream Home.
St. Jude officials will be on hand to present details about the Home.
Following the special meeting will be a Town Hall at 6 p.m. Sept. 18 for a presentation and discussion on the Lakeland Fire Department, also at City Hall. Lakeland is expected to transition from Shelby County Fire Department services to its own City Fire Department next July.
