Chris Cole has been hired as the new Recreation Program Supervisor for the City of Lakeland Parks and Recreation Department, replacing Wendi Haley who resigned.
Kevin Rooney, director of Parks and Recreation, said Mr. Cole started with the City Sept. 19th. His job includes organizing all City recreation programs.
Mr. Cole is from Thompson’s Station, TN and went to the University of Tennessee at Knoxville. He has a Bachelor of Science in recreation and sport management.
His work experience includes four years as a student equipment management with the UT football team and he interned with the Tennessee Golf Association as a USGA-sponsored P.J. Boatwright Jr. Intern this summer. He traveled the state conducting TGA-sponsored championships for amateur and professional golfers.
Mr. Cole said his life revolves around sports and athletics and loves to play golf and watch football.
His wife Chandler is in dental school in Memphis.
