Mayor Roman Invites Residents to Lakeland Listens Event to Discuss Farmers Market

Residents are invited to join Mayor Roman at the upcoming Lakeland Listens event on Wednesday, February 12, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Lakeland Town Square for a community discussion and walk-through of a potential farmers market location.

The idea of a farmers market has been a topic of discussion at previous Board of Commissioners (BOC) meetings, and this event will provide an opportunity for residents to offer feedback on the Board’s strategic goals and priorities. Mr. Roman said he and the BOC are trying to evaluate locations within Lakeland Town Square so parking for the market does not become a major concern. While the location decision has not been made yet, he sees the value in a market and would like to have one in the city.

Mayor Roman will share other details about the proposed layout, operational plans, and potential usage of the market at the event and attendees will also have the chance to ask questions and learn more about how this initiative could benefit the community.

Mayor Roman tells Lakeland Currents he will be there rain or shine so please make plans to attend.
