In an unrelated announcement this evening, Lakeland School System has announced another closure for the week. Teachers will have the opportunity to receive COVID-19 vaccinations this Friday, so schools will be closed with students resorting to remote learning.
An email from Jessica Millspaugh with LSS stated, “Due to new plans for vaccination of all interested LSS employees this Friday, February 26th, LSS schools will be closed that day and students will learn remotely.”
A Facebook post put out by LSS went on to say, “Extracurricular activities are permitted, but before/after school care is cancelled. We are excited and grateful for this opportunity to make our schools safer for our students and staff, and we appreciate your flexibility and understanding.”
