A new Bible Study Series called “24 Hours to Understanding the Bible” starts at 10 a.m. Friday (8.2.19) at the Lakeland Senior Center (LSC).
Kim Odom, manager of the LSC, said, “There will be an hour-long DVD presentation followed by a question and answer session. The class is led by Trudy Scholten. For more information, call 746-8195.”
A six-week Abstract Acrylic Painting Class begins at 10:30 a.m. Aug. 15th and meets every Thursday through Sept. 19th.
“This painting course offers students opportunities for fun, outside the box creativity using color, play and movement,” said Mrs. Odom. It is presented by Creative Aging. Instructor is Judith Weintraub. Maximum 10 individuals. Cost is $30 in advance. Must pre-register and pay. Call 746-8195.
The Potluck Luncheon and Elvis Week-After Celebration is at 11:30 a.m. Aug. 21st at the IH Clubhouse, next door to the LSC. “The luncheon will have a Blue Hawaii theme, said Mrs. Odom. “Feel free to bring a dish Elvis loved. Wear your tropical shirt and Hawaiian lei and join us for some fun and games. Live entertainment will be Hawaiian North 40, a local group of ukuleles playing a few Elvis tunes. Be sure to bring your Elvis memorabilia and share your memories of the King with us. Must RSVP by calling 746-8195.
Following the luncheon will be Movie Day at 12:30 p.m. Aug. 21st. Call for the movie title. Popcorn served. Bring a friend and your own snacks.
