LSC activities for January

By Kim Odom, Lakeland Senior Center (LSC) manager

2019 is here and Lakeland Senior Center is starting it off with lots of fun. We hope you will continue coming to our regular activities and will join us for some new activities, or a few returning activities – back by popular demand.

Some of the offerings:

Jan. 10       Watercolor Classes

Jan. 16       Birthday Bash

Jan. 22       Jewelry Making

Jan. 29       Chili Cook-off
First, second and third place trophies will be awarded at the “friendly” Chili Cook-off.  Get those Crock-Pots out folks and share your recipe!

Ladies, let’s Brown Bag It and enjoy each other’s company once-a-month for a ladies luncheon. Go by your favorite restaurant, pick up lunch and meet us at the Center at noon. On occasion, we can order in or host themed potlucks. It’s your call. This is your Center to enjoy.

There really are a lot of activities planned to start the New Year off. Please join us! It’s easy to make friends at LSC. There’s no reason for anyone to sit at home during the winter months. Let LSC be your home away home.

If you have a hobby to share, we love to hear about it. Together, we can make the Lakeland Senior Center the best place to be – winter, spring, summer and fall. Bring a friend and join the fun.

Some activities require registration. To register or for more information on these and other activities at LSC, please call 746-8195.
