Some have already started to recognize the triple threat that LPS has become in a very short amount of time. Lakeland Preparatory School has excelled in academics, the arts and athletics to the surprise of some who thought it would take years to get there, while others knew the potential was there for the taking. Just a week ago the High School volleyball team defeated Oakhaven, the JV Middle School volleyball team defeated Munford, and the Middle School soccer team defeated Brighton all in one night. These young men and women are showing tremendous growth under great leadership of their coaches.
Monday, September 26th, the Lady Lions Middle School soccer team will play in the WTAC Conference championship game at 5:00pm at the LPS Annex field off Old Brownsville. Also coming soon, the boys cross country team is in the TMSAA sectional runner up and will run in the state meet in Clarksville, TN on October 1st. The ladies have individual participants also running in the sectional. These athletes are receiving a diverse educational experience and growing with their peers in different sports.
Golf has had a great start at LPS and soon basketball season will fill the gym with excitement in both the Middle School and the High School gyms. In a few short years, the school system will be a complete K-12, with family and friends present to witness high school volleyball and basketball in the new gym, Friday night lights at the stadium, lacrosse, soccer, baseball, and so many other sports…what a scene that will be! More coverage coming soon as you see more field completion on the campus. Go Lions!
