LMPS wins first BOTB competition of the year

LMPS BOTB team at competition yesterday

The Battle of the Books (BOTB) team from LMPS (Lakeland Middle Preparatory School) beat West Collierville Middle School yesterday (2.25.20) 74-32 in round one of competition.

The date and place for round two of the competition will be announced by the end of this week, according to Bethany Christy Campbell, LMPS teacher-librarian and BOTB sponsor. Round three will be the final competition, she said.

Area schools competing this year in BOTB

This is the third year for a team at LMPS. The students practice every Tuesday after school.  They won for the County in 2017-18 and were first runner-up last year.

BOTB is a reading incentive program for students in grades 3-12.  The purpose is to encourage students to read and have fun competing with peers.
