All grades at LMPS (Lakeland Middle Preparatory School) participated in the school’s “Give Back Project” this month for a Bartlett nursing home.
Bethany Christy, LMPS librarian, said the project was open to all students. “Students of different grade levels brought in candies, air fresheners, socks, stationery, cookies, nail polish and mints. During library, the fifth-grade students worked on holiday cards and decorated brown paper sacks.
“A few eighth-grade students helped me organize the donations that were brought in, and a group of sixth-grade students helped Mrs. (Tonya) Miller and I stuff the goodie bags.”
Ms. Christy said the Mane Melody Choir will deliver the 53 bags today (11.29.18) when they carol at the Elmcroft Assisted Living Home in Bartlett. The visit will follow the Choir’s Christmas performance at The Peabody Hotel at 11 this morning.
Sixth-grade students pictured helping with the project are Erin Frugé, Ridley Austin, Saylor Coleman, Eva Rivers, Hayden Grady and Yair Valdivia.
