It will be “Mittens and Memories” for the LMPS (Lakeland Middle Preparatory School) Winter Orchestra Concert at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday (12.17.19) in the school gymnasium.
It is open to the community and is sponsored by the LMPS Fine Arts.
Paula Bert Turner, orchestra director, said there is a $5 per person suggested donation for admission which includes complimentary hot cocoa and cookies.
The Orchestra Boosters will present a silent auction of gift baskets and other goodies donated by business and families in the Lakeland community, said Mrs. Turner.
“Both Orchestras (Beginning and Concert) will perform,” said Mrs. Turner. “Pieces include North Pole March, Somewhere in my Memory (from the movie Home Alone), and What the Angels Tell Me, an arrangement of one of the melodies from Gustav Mahler’s 3rd Symphony.”
The concert will conclude with a finale performed by both ensembles called Theme & Academic Variations, narrated by Dr. Ted Horrell, Lakeland School System superintendent.
