The LMPS (Lakeland Middle Preparatory School) Volleyball A Team won the West Tennessee Volleyball Sectional Championship Oct. 4 by defeating Ridgeway and then defeating Brighton. Bailey Hall was named tournament MVP and Natalie Latessa and Kara Crunk both were selected for All-Tournament Team.
There is no state championship for middle school volleyball, which means the Lions went as far as they could go in only their second year in existence.
The middle school opened in August 2017 and serves grades 5-8. Lakeland students attend Arlington High School through an interlocal agreement until a high school is built in Lakeland.
