LMPS first home game: Loss in the books but win for the fans

Framed by double rainbows, the LMPS (Lakeland Middle Preparatory School) Lions played their first game on home turf last night (9.6.18).

Although the middle-schoolers lost to the Houston Middle School-2 Mustangs 20-14, the parents, grandparents, siblings, cheer squads and others in the community couldn’t have been prouder of the historic moment for the Lakeland School System (LSS).

Posted are Google albums from last night taken by LSS Parent Bob Fencl and Lakeland Currents photographer Jim Willis.

And among his myriad of photos,  Bob Fencl captured the cheer squad supporting the team on the historic night.

LMPS serves grades 5-8 and opened to students in August 2017. Last night was inaugural night for the football team to use the newly constructed field.

Lakeland Elementary School serves grades K-4. Lakeland high school students attend Arlington High School through an interlocal between the two cities.
