LMPS Fine Arts students win 7 First Place trophies in Pigeon Forge competition

LMPS (Lakeland Middle Preparatory School) fine arts students were beaming with pride yesterday (5.4.19) over seven first place trophies received from “Music in the Parks” competition at Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, TN.

The Orchestra, Concert Band, Treble Choir and Mixed Choir all received first place and superior ratings in the Single A competition Saturday.  Overall, the Band, Honor Choir and Orchestra won first places.

Parent Rebecca Floyd said students were beaming with pride along with Band Director Anneliese Land, Choir Director Tonya Miller, Orchestra Director Paula Bert Turner and LMPS Principal Matt Adler.

Mr. Adler said, “What an amazing accomplishment for our students and their directors. We congratulate each of them for being truly exemplary!”

A Music in The Parks Festival provides a year-end assessment by an outside panel and reinforces music skills that have been presented by faculty, according to their website.  https://musicintheparks.com/

The students left Friday for Pigeon Forge and were to return to Lakeland today.
