The 54-member fifth grade Mane Melody Singers began the evening with four selections including “Christmas is Coming”, “Children Go Where I Send Thee” and “Light One Candle.” The final number was the upbeat “Reindeer Twist” choreographed with dancing and finger-snapping. Several students gathered their “parents from the audience to join in the dancing fun.
Next on the program was the 48-member sixth grade choir. They presented three songs: Cardinal”, “Snow is Falling” and “The Bells of Christmas Medley.”
Three songs were performed by the Concert Choir of 24 members: “Something Told the Wild Geese”, “Joyful Madrigal” and “White Winter Hymnal”. The body percussion of the last song was researched and arranged by Shelby Emerson, an eighth grader who taught the routine to the other students.
During the final number presented by the combined sixth through eighth grade choirs, two soloists were featured: Shelby Emerson and Priya Bakshi. The song was “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas.”
