LMPS eighth grade basketball players, POM squad members, cheerleaders and their parents were honored this week (1.8.18) at the final regular season home game, according to Candice McGuire, girls’ basketball coach and eighth math teacher at LMPS (Lakeland Middle Preparatory School).
Mrs. McGuire said the special group of eighth graders led their respective teams as the very first in school history. LMPS opened to grades 5-8 in August 2017 as the second school in the Lakeland School System.
Lady Lions basketball players honored were Mia Hoffman, Emma McCreary, Piper Lee, Ava Douglas, Alexis Schoggen, Nur Hamada and Mary Claire Wagner.
Boys basketball players honored were Adam Olds, Samir Abdurahman, Preston Jones, Philip Dotson, Zac Bratton, Kale McGuire, Logen Fann and Eli Maddox
Member of the POM squad honored were Kathryn Barker, Sophie Gilliland and Gracie Bailey.
Cheerleaders were Olivia Linton and Hannah Paire.
