The LMPS (Lakeland Middle Preparatory School) Touchdown Club has announced the 2018 football schedule for year two of the middle school, which opened to grades 5-8 in August 2017.
The season starts with a scrimmage game at 5 p.m. Aug. 2 at Munford Middle School in Munford, TN.
The first regularly scheduled game is 6 p.m. Aug. 14 at Crestview Middle School in Covington, TN with the final game Oct. 4 at Elmore Park Middle School in Bartlett.
Bowl week starts Oct. 18.
Justin Ladd is president of the LMPS Touchdown Club and said, “We are very excited about our second football season as a new middle school. The Booster Club is very thankful for all the community support we have received in helping fund all the team needs thus far. We hope to have great community attendance to show support for the Lakeland Lions.”
An artificial turf football field with lights is under construction behind LMPS with the hopes that some home games can be played on the new field toward the end of the 2018 football season.
Other Touchdown Club Board members are Teresa Ford, vice president, Amy Roberson, secretary and Jessica Maxwell, treasurer.
