LES students took to the stage last weekend (March 2, 3) for the children’s play “Annie Kids” in the school cafeteria.
The elementary students had been practicing since January for the first-ever production of the newly formed Drama Club at LES (Lakeland Elementary School.)
The LES PTA sponsored the play and covered all cost-related aspects including costumes, props and sets.
Jamie Johnson, vice president of cultural arts for the PTA, said 85 students participated in the production.
LES serves students in grades K-4. LMPS (Lakeland Middle Preparatory School) has grades 5-8. High school students attend Arlington High School through an interlocal agreement until a high school wing can be added to the middle school.
