Seniors from the Class of 2021 who attended Lakeland Elementary School came back to their alma mater Wednesday (5.19.21) for their Senior Walk.

This new tradition, started in 2019, is only in it’s second year thanks to the Corona Quarantine restrictions last year in 2020.  In 2019 they were allowed to walk the halls of the school, but this year looked a little different.  The elementary students lined the circular drive in front of the school to watch and cheer as the seniors paraded through to the sounds of “Pomp and Circumstance”.

Twenty-two former students, most in cap and gown, were there representing Arlington High School, Bartlett High School, Briarcrest Christian School, St. Benedict, St. Agnes and Lausanne.

Cat Wright, Lakeland resident and mother to a 2020 graduate said, “A big thank you to Joretha Lockhart, Terri Hoffman and Laura Harrison for making this wonderful tradition happen during this untraditional Year.”

Adrian Fencl, who provided Lakeland Currents with the photos and video, also mom to a 2021 grad, stated, “I’m so glad these seniors could resume this annual tradition!  Once a lion, always a lion!”
