Be a part of the LEF 2nd Annual Rock-n-Roar 5K/Family Fun Run along with a Fine Arts Festival April 4th, all on the grounds of Lakeland Elementary School (LES).
The Lakeland Education Foundation (LEF) is sponsoring both events to raise money for teacher grants in support of innovative projects at both LES and Lakeland Middle Preparatory School (LMPS), according to Amy Foster, LEF president.

The Rock-n-Roar Run will have an electronic chip timing system with disposable timing chips programmed and applied to race bibs. There will be an awards ceremony with race results and medals presented. Cost is $30 for the 5K, $25 for the Fun Run through April 3rd. Cost the day of the race is $35 and $30. Each participant will receive a T-shirt and goody bag.
The Fine Arts Festival will include juried artists from around Memphis, along with food trucks on the LES campus. Cost to have a booth at the Festival is $40 per vendor, admission is free. The rain date is April 5th, same location. Food trucks include Taste of Tennessee and The Fiesta Wagon.

Businesses and individuals are encouraged to be a sponsor of the Race, said Mrs. Foster.
Vendor information for the Arts Festival
- Booth Space is 10’ x 15’
- No power or water supply will be available
- No generators are permitted
- Artists are responsible for providing their own materials for setup (i.e. chairs, tables, tents)
- Artists can begin setting up April 4th as early as 7:30 a.m.
- Artists may not sell or distribute food or drinks
- Once registered, booth fees of $40 can be paid at the link below
- Entry fees are nonrefundable and transferable only upon approval of the Lakeland Education Foundation Board

In October 2019, LEF awarded about $24,000 in 22 teacher grants including monies for document cameras, flexible seating, intervention tables and circuit kits. It was the fifth consecutive year of granting awards by LEF.
