Rock ‘n’ ROAR 5K – 4 p.m.

Fun Run – 5:15 p.m.

Sept. 29th

Lakeland Elementary School (LES)

Tanya Wallace, president of LEF, said it will be a great event to bring people together, promote physical fitness and a fun event for the community.

Tanya Wallace, president of LEF.

“We are seeking sponsorships for the event, and businesses can also set up a booth at the event for a fee. Anyone interested in being a sponsor should contact lakelandeducationfoundation@gmail.com.”

LEF was founded in 2014 by Cecil Tompkins who was its first chair and planned the 5Ks in 2015 and 2016, said Mrs. Wallace.

“We didn’t have one last year, but have had several community members inquire about it. So, we are planning it for this fall. We have hired a professional company to manage the event. All 5K runners will be chip-timed.”

All monies raised by LEF will be used towards fulfilling grant requests at both LES and LMPS (Lakeland Middle Preparatory School).
