As they said in the movie The Blues Brothers, “we’re getting the band back together.” Only in this case it’s the bands getting back together. The much anticipated LAMP concert series will return to Lakeland this summer. The free concert series, held at the IH Clubhouse amphitheater on Canada Road, has always been a hit for residents. Last year all concerts were cancelled due to COVID-19 restrictions.
Each concert has a different performing band and food trucks are always part of the festivities.
According to the Lakeland Parks and Recreation Department, dates for the 2021 concerts are June 26, July 24, August 28, and September 25. Those dates are all on a Saturday and each one will start at 6:30 p.m.
The list of performers has not been announced yet, but those details are expected soon. Vice Mayor Michelle Dial, who is also the board liaison for parks and recreation, said she believes this summer’s series will be a hit. “I think residents will enjoy the list of performers we are bringing in this year,” Vice Mayor Dial said. She added, “it will be wonderful to see people getting out to take part in these events again!”
