Soccer signups for Lakeland youth soccer have been extended until February 18th but organizers say to sign up quickly due to limited room.
The Lakeland parks and recreation program is run by the Tennessee Soccer Academy and the program has seen substantial growth over the last few years. That growth was helped with the addition of multiple soccer fields in the Lakeland area at both the Lakeland Prep Athletic Annex on Old Brownsville Road and the Lakeland Athletic Facility located on Memphis-Arlington Road.
According to the Tennessee Soccer Academy website the Lakeland Recreational Soccer program offers an engaging and instructive youth soccer league open to all local players. You do not have to live in Lakeland to play in this league. The league will run from March to May this spring. Volunteer coaches undergo ongoing training and adhere to a structured curriculum overseen by the league director.
The spring season will consist of 8 games and weekly team practices. Additionally, various skills clinics and developmental opportunities may be available to further enhance players’ growth throughout the season.
