Fishing at a pond

Residents are encouraged to mark their calendars for Lakeland’s annual Fishing Rodeo, scheduled for Saturday, May 2, 2026, from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at IH Clubhouse located at 4523 Canada Road. The family-friendly event continues to be a highlight of the city’s spring calendar, attracting participants of all ages for a morning centered around outdoor recreation and community engagement.

Organized by the City of Lakeland Parks & Recreation, the Fishing Rodeo offers attendees an opportunity to enjoy a structured and welcoming fishing experience, complete with timed sessions and prize opportunities.

Event organizers are also calling on volunteers to assist with various aspects of the rodeo. Volunteer roles include managing event check-in, assisting with 15-minute fishing rotations, measuring catches, recording results, and providing general support throughout the event. The opportunity is open to students, service organizations, and community members, with volunteer hours available for those who require them.
