His choices for colleges are Notre Dame, the University of Michigan, University of Florida and Auburn University.  He plans to study aeronautical or mechanical engineering.  His goal is to become an astronaut, according to his mother, Audra Fahey.  “His chosen path to that goal would be Navy ROTC in college to become a military pilot, then Test Pilot School and apply to NASA.”

He is an Eagle Scout, Senior Class President, four-year Student Government member, swim instructor and certified lifeguard,  plays high school and club soccer, and is a member of the National Honor Society, Beta Club and Key Club.

John Morgan is among 16,000 semifinalists in the 2020 National Merit Scholarship Program.  He continues in the competition for National Merit scholarships worth more than $31 million to be announced in the spring.
