Lakeland School System announced both Lakeland Elementary School and Lakeland Preparatory School will once again be cancelled on Wednesday, February 17 due to the current winter weather and bad road conditions.
Jessica Millspaugh, Human Resources Director for LSS, issued the following statement this morning, “Due to the road conditions and forecast, Lakeland School System schools will be closed on Wednesday, February 17th. In-person, remote learning, before and after care, and all extracurricular activities are canceled on that day. We will update our status on a day to day basis.”
Snow days for schools are always built into the school calendar at the beginning of the year which allows for days like this.
