College lacrosse is coming to Lakeland for the first time ever with the debut of The Bridge Classic, an inaugural two-day event set for February 27–28, 2026, at Lakeland Preparatory School.
The Bridge Classic will bring four college programs to Lakeland for a weekend of competitive play, marking the first time this level of collegiate lacrosse has been hosted in the area. The event will feature four college games across two days, along with a bonus high school matchup, giving fans a full slate of action and a rare opportunity to experience college lacrosse locally.
The competing colleges include Tennessee Wesleyan, Webber International, William Penn, and William Woods. Organizers say the event is designed to showcase high-level lacrosse while building excitement for the sport in Lakeland and surrounding communities.
Action begins Friday, February 27, with Tennessee Wesleyan facing William Woods at 4:30 p.m., followed by Webber International versus William Penn at 7 p.m.
Games continue Saturday, February 28, starting with William Woods taking on Webber International at 12:30 p.m. William Penn will then meet Tennessee Wesleyan at 3 p.m. The weekend concludes with a high school matchup at 6 p.m. featuring Lakeland Preparatory School against Evangelical Christian School.
