Lakeland Prep’s girls basketball program has no shortage of rising talent, but this past week one player stood unmistakably above the rest. Sophomore guard Ann-Sophie Grandchamp has been named the Lakeland Prep Athlete of the Week after a commanding showcase in games against St. George’s, Lausanne, and Fayette Christian. All three games highlighted her ability to influence every corner of the game.
According to Head Coach Jenny Kiesel, Grandchamp delivered one of her most complete performances of the season, filling the stat sheet with 21 points, 8 assists, and an impressive 12 steals. Her presence was felt from the opening possession, pushing the pace offensively while applying relentless pressure on defense.
Kiesel praised Grandchamp’s combination of energy, vision, and leadership—qualities that continue to elevate the players around her. “Her defensive intensity and court awareness really set the tone,” Kiesel noted, emphasizing the sophomore’s growing role as a catalyst on both ends of the floor.
Still early in her high school career, Grandchamp is already emerging as a dynamic force for Lakeland Prep. Her ability to balance scoring, playmaking, and lockdown defense underscores a bright future ahead—one that Lakeland Prep fans will be watching closely as the season continues.
