Lakeland Prep High School senior Leslie Ramos has officially signed to continue her soccer career at Freed-Hardeman University, an NAIA program competing in the Mid-South Conference.
Ramos has been a key contributor to the Lakeland Prep girls soccer program for the past four years, earning recognition as one of the area’s top players. In 2023, she was named to the Daily Memphian All-Metro Team and has also received All-District and All-Regional honors multiple times during her high school career.
Throughout her time at Lakeland Prep, Ramos demonstrated versatility by playing several positions before settling into her role as a left back. Known for her composure and strong soccer IQ, she has become a dependable presence on the defensive line while also contributing to the team’s build-up play with accurate passing.
Lakeland Prep head coach Jay Fausey praised Ramos for her work ethic and understanding of the game. “Leslie has played for us for the past four years. She’s played multiple positions over the years but found her home as a left back,” Fausey said. “She is the type of player that every coach would want on their team. She has a high understanding of the game and is an extremely hard worker. One of the best attributes of her game is how calm she is on the ball and her ability to find accurate passes to her teammates. We at Lakeland Prep are super excited for Leslie and can’t wait to cheer her on at the collegiate level.”
Ramos is the second athlete from Lakeland Prep to sign to play at the collegiate level. In November, Prep volleyball star Ella Bird, signed with the University of North Carolina Greensboro.
