The Lakeland Prep High School Marching Band is inviting the community to its Annual State Sendoff Performance on Friday, October 31 at 5:30 PM at LPS, as the band prepares to compete at the state level. This season’s production, titled “All The Lonely People: Sketches of Eleanor,” features 83 student performers showcasing a moving and visually rich musical presentation inspired by themes of reflection, connection, and belonging.
The show draws from a creative blend of modern reinterpretations and classic influences, with a musical program that includes:
- Eleanor Rigby – Cody Fry (originally by The Beatles)
- Come Together – Gary Clark Jr. (originally by The Beatles)
- I Want You (She’s So Heavy) – The Beatles
- I Hear a Symphony – Cody Fry
- To Build a Home – The Cinematic Orchestra
With sweeping choreography, layered musical textures, and powerful storytelling, the production has earned praise throughout the season for its emotional depth and artistic ambition.

Band Director Micaiah Radcliffe noted the students’ dedication through challenging conditions: “The students have worked extremely hard this season to push the marching band program into another tier. After a slow start due to the extreme heat at the beginning of the season, the kids have made up for lost time outside and then some. Every aspect of the program has seen a marked growth, both musically and visually, and I’m excited to see them perform on Saturday.”
The State Sendoff offers family, friends, and community members an opportunity to experience the full performance before the band travels to compete. The event is free and will take place on the Lakeland Prep campus. Residents are encouraged to attend and support the students as they represent the Lakeland community on the state stage.
