The halls of Lakeland Prep School (LPS) will soon be alive with the sounds of the season as the school’s performing arts programs debut their 2024 Christmas music concert series. This year marks a new tradition for LPS with “combination concerts,” where the choir and orchestra collaborate for festive performances.

The season begins on Thursday, December 5th, with the LPS High School Choir and Orchestra taking the stage at 6:30 p.m. in the LPS Auditorium. Attendees can look forward to classic and contemporary holiday selections, including The Holly and the Ivy, Veni Veni Emmanuel, Blue Christmas, Sleigh Ride, and the timeless Hallelujah Chorus.

Here’s the full lineup of holiday performances:

  • December 5th: High School Orchestra and Choir Concert, 6:30 p.m., LPS Auditorium
  • December 9th: Middle School Orchestra and Choir Concert, 6:30 p.m., LPS Auditorium
    • The Middle School Orchestra will also host an auction—details to be shared on the Lakeland Prep Facebook page.
  • December 10th: Middle School Band Winter Concert (6th-8th grade), 7:00 p.m., LPS Auditorium
  • December 17th: High School Band Winter Concert, 7:00 p.m., LPS Auditorium

Looking ahead to spring, the LPS Orchestra and Band programs are set to perform together for the first time in the school’s history.

The concerts are free and open to the public, inviting the Lakeland community to celebrate the holiday spirit while supporting young local talent.
