Lakeland Pee Wee Football Team will play a championship game Tuesday (11.6.18) against Collierville.
Kevin Rooney, director of the Lakeland Parks and Recreation Department, said the 6:30 p.m. game for the 9-10 year-olds will be at LMPS (Lakeland Middle Preparatory School).
The Mitey Mite 7-8 year-old championship game was Tuesday (10.30.18) versus Arlington at LMPS.
“Arlington ended up winning on a bad snap by Lakeland with 13 seconds left in regulation. The game was scoreless up until that point, and Lakeland was undefeated going into that game,” said Mr. Rooney.
“The MFL Commissioner had a feeling Lakeland would have teams in each Championship, so he asked if the school would be willing to host the games.
“Superintendent (Dr. Ted) Horrell and Principal (Matt) Adler were both very gracious in allowing us to play the games at the field, and all of the guests thought the facility looked great.”
