The Lakeland Chamber of Commerce is hosting their annual Golf Invitational Oct. 23 at Stonebridge Golf Club, 3049 Davies Plantation Rd and seeks additional sponsors by Oct. 19.

She announced that Renaissance Realty is the title sponsor for the tournament. Gold sponsors are State Farm/ Wil Ashworth, Fireworks City and Renaissance Group. Josh Roman/Allstate is a silver sponsor.
Proceeds from the event will benefit Lakeland schools. “We are excited to announce that this year we will again be partnering with parent organizations at Lakeland School System to benefit the programs and objectives they have in place.
Mrs. Buchanan added there will be special prizes for Lakeland School System classes with the most participation. “If you have a child at Lakeland Elementary or Lakeland Middle please make sure to list their names and their teachers’ names on the registration form,” she said.
In addition there will be a hole-in-one contest to win a new 2017 Honda Accord, she said. “Along with the putting contest, closest to the pin contest, and longest-drive contest there will be plenty of opportunities to walk away a winner,” she said.
“We also use this fun event to support many Chamber initiatives. This is our biggest fundraiser of the year,” said Mrs. Buchanan.
In 2016, she noted, there were close to 100 golfers. “We are looking forward to an even bigger event this year. This is a great opportunity for businesses in the community to show their support and get recognition as being a part of the Lakeland Area Chamber of Commerce Golf Invitational benefitting Lakeland Schools”
Check-in and lunch will be at 11 a.m. with a shotgun start at 12:30 p.m. There will be cash prizes for winners.
Cost is $400 per team or $100 per player which includes lunch, greens fees, cart and prizes.
