Lakeland Lions Club donates to LMPS

Check presentation to LSS by Lakeland Lions Club

LMPS has an AED (Automated External Defibrillator) thanks to the Lakeland Lions Club.

Member Alan Larrabee said the Club made a check donation to Lakeland Middle Preparatory School in September to purchase the AED.

“Susan (Susan Rice North, LSS coordinated school health coordinator) explained the need to have a defibrillator close to the school sports fields for students and adults.

Dr. Ted Horrell, Lakeland School System (LSS) superintendent, spoke to the group.  “Ted gave us an update on the schools that our Club is very proud of.”

In addition, Mr. Larrabee said, “This year we gave extra amounts to LMPS to jump start their library books and football team equipment. We raise well over $60,000 each year with our pecan sales and donate much of it to local endeavors to benefit our community”

He said the Club supports both LMPS and LES (Lakeland Elementary School) as well as other schools in the area.
