Last night (3.13.20) a home on Cutter Lane in Windward Slopes caught fire but all in the home escaped without injuries.
Aigo Pyles, the homeowner, said he and his family are fine. Everyone was able to get out of the house in time. He said he wasn’t home when the fire started but when he arrived, his wife, children and dogs were safe.
He thanked the fire department (Shelby County and Arlington departments responded to the fire) and said the damage was confined to the west side of his house.
“My neighbors are being wonderful to us. Everyone in Windward Slopes made us feel like part of a big family.”
The Shelby County Fire Department was unavailable for comment regarding the cause of the fire and extent of damages.
