In previous years, Lakeland has witnessed between 100 and 200 homes participating in both the Fall and Spring yard sales. While nobody can predict the weather, October typically provides more comfortable temperatures for shoppers, making it an ideal time for this event. As per tradition, there is no rain check date, but even when raindrops have fallen in the past, the sale has continued as planned with a robust turnout of participants.
For those who have signed up to sell their items, organizers ask that you’re responsible for setting up and removing your signage. Many enthusiastic residents kick off their sales on Friday morning, carrying through to Saturday morning, with most wrapping up by 2pm on Saturday afternoon. The majority of buyers tend to arrive around 10am on Saturday morning.
At previous yard sales some residents have teamed up with their neighbors for combined sales, while others have used eye-catching signage to attract more traffic.
