A local entrepreneur is making a name for herself in the safety industry with the launch of a specialized glove designed for industrial use and proudly stamped with a “Women Owned” logo.
Jessica Ladd, a longtime Lakeland resident and owner of Ladd Safety, is a certified Safety PPE Specialist and WBE (Women’s Business Enterprise) certified through the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council. Her latest product, a Cut Resistant Polyurethane glove, is gaining attention for its thoughtful design, competitive pricing, and unique representation in the marketplace.
“This glove was designed here in Memphis with the automotive manufacturing industry in mind,” said Ladd. “The glove is stamped with our ‘Women Owned Logo’ certificate, which we believe sets us apart on the local and national level.”
The glove features a Hi-Viz Lime shell for enhanced visibility on job sites and a White Poly Dip palm coating that helps highlight oil during inspections—features that Ladd says are vital for safety and quality control in manufacturing environments. It’s also packaged for compatibility with PPE vending machines, making it easy for large-scale industrial use.
According to Ladd, the glove’s affordability is another standout benefit. “We are competitively priced against all the big box manufacturing brands around the country,” she said.
Ladd Safety is poised to become the first national distributor offering a private label glove sold and manufactured by certified women-owned businesses—a milestone Ladd believes is a game-changer in the industry. “We believe this is a first and sets us apart from some of the national companies we compete against.”
